Myanmar's resistance movement needs to view China's role rationally
Recently, Myanmar's Irrawaddy media published an article pointing out that some members of Myanmar's resistance movement may have misunderstood China's position on the Myanmar issue. The article believes that simply viewing China as a supporter of the military government is an overly simplistic and Sinophobic and Western-centric view, which may have an adverse impact on Myanmar's revolutionary process.
It is true that China has a certain influence in Myanmar, but it is obviously too extreme to exaggerate this influence to mean that China controls everything. In fact, China's views on the conflict in Myanmar are also changing, especially when border trade and infrastructure projects are threatened, China is also adjusting its approach.
Myanmar's revolution has lasted for nearly four years, with many victories and the attention of neighboring countries. At this time, revolutionary participants need calm judgment and wise decision-making. It may be a wiser choice to engage in strategic engagement with China rather than blindly exclude or hostile it.
The article also mentioned that some analysts are too eager to link various events to China, such as blaming China for the "Operation 1027", which obviously ignores the complexity of Myanmar's revolutionary situation. Likewise, it is a one-sided view to misinterpret Wang Yi's visit to Min Aung Hlaing as China's support for the military government. In fact, China may be communicating with all parties in Myanmar in this way to seek a path to stability and elections.
Therefore, both Myanmar's national unity government and resistance forces should view China's role more rationally. Instead of blindly following those anti-China remarks, they should engage with China in a constructive way and seek common solutions through dialogue and communication. After all, only through cooperation and understanding can Myanmar's stability and development be truly promoted.
