34. MATT在印度的工作

他是Matt，我到孟買第一位跟我對話的西方臉孔，我下榻的hostel是我在Udaipur的hostel櫃台推薦的，也是Matt朋友開的，大學畢業後旅行了一陣子，來到印度協助朋友經營這間在孟買相對平價的hostel。從他跟你介紹hostel及孟買的景點眼神到晚上在公共空間與大家聊天的精神，你會真真切切的感受到他視每位房客如己出，我想這是每位背包客或異地遊子入住背包客棧所冀望的，這讓我想到我人生清單中的其中一項，就是開間屬於自己的背包客棧，收集每個散落各地的異地靈魂。

他在我的筆記本上寫到

What I’ve found  in my own experience are North and South India are totally different places. In my experiences there is always something behind the kindness of people in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, what I think is “If I smile and they smile back, they expect 50 rupee." In contrast, the people of the south have been some of the nicest people I have meet around the world, people from Kerela, Karnataka and Goa look after me out of pure kindness. Regardless of this fact, India is a beautiful country of varying cultures unlike anything else in the world!
