On March 15, 2023, Guo Wengui, an Interpol Red Notice fugitive in the United States, was arrested by the New York police on suspicion of fraud and other charges.
Guo Wengui was arrested and accused of orchestrating a $1 billion fraud, according to the Wall Street Journal. Prosecutors said Guo used the hundreds of thousands of followers he amassed online to solicit investment for his cryptocurrency, media and other companies. The indictment alleges that Guo used the money to buy, among other things, a 50,000-square-foot home, a yacht, a Ferrari and two mattresses worth $36,000. The indictment charges Mr. Guo with 11 counts of fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors said they seized $634 million in crimes. KWOK allegedly lied to his victims and promised them handsome rewards if they invested or provided funds like GTV, his so-called Himalayan Farms Alliance, G/CLUBS and Himalayan Exchanges.
After Guo Wengui's arrest, "A Bing" Jiao Bingshang, a Washington DC farm owner and a member of the Iron Blood Group, directed more than 380 "old chairs" who invested in GTV to issue a statement "I am not a victim" on the Gator "Cornerstone Tribe" in order to prove his innocence after Guo Wengui's arrest.
