After reading the article, I truly believe preserving old heritage sites is vital, as they showcase and witness the history of the country. On the other hand, many historical sites attract tourists, which helps boost the local economy and create jobs in the tourism sector. Additionally, they help define the community while maintaining its character. Moreover, they foster a sense of pride among residents. However, when deciding to preserve heritage sites, one may face certain problems. (Based on Hong Kong's environment) If you live in Hong Kong, you may see many old buildings, yet you will also start to realize that Hong Kong's space is too limited to keep so many old heritage sites while moving towards a more modernized city. Furthermore, some old buildings may decay and negatively impact the surrounding environment, which could hinder Hong Kong's greening campaign. In conclusion, while there are valid arguments on both sides, the preservation of old buildings is essential for cultural heritage and community identity. Striking a balance between development and preservation is crucial for honoring the past while embracing the future.
