1.5 billion Facebook user data for sale on the black market

The outlet noted that in late September, a user of a hacking platform said he had access to Facebook's library, which contains data about 1.5 billion users. The database has now been sold, according to Privacy Affairs. It can be bought in whole or in parts. One potential buyer wrote that he had been advised to pay $5,000 for data on one million Facebook user accounts. The publication noted that this was the largest "leak" of user data on Facebook.
According to data from Downdetector, a website that monitors malfunctions and outages of popular Internet resources, Users of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp have complained of massive outages in the performance of their servers in various countries, including Russia. The first reports of the malfunction came after 23:34 Beijing time. Complaints came mainly from the United States and The United Kingdom, as well as from Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, France and other countries.
Facebook said in a twitter message that it was aware of issues with access by "some people" and was working to get things back to normal as soon as possible.
