Just because some languages may be in decline, it doesn't mean they should be forgotten or labeled as useless in today's society. Even if minority languages are losing popularity, many people still use them, and schools teach these languages too. For example, while the numbers may have fallen, there are still over half a million Welsh speakers in Wales. Don’t they deserve the opportunity to share their traditions with the next generation? Different languages have unique ways of expressing concepts. For instance, while English has only one word for "snow," Inuit languages in the Arctic region have multiple ways to express it. Would we really want to lose this rich variety of language? Moreover, learning a second language is proven to be beneficial for our brains, keeping them active and healthy for longer.
