Originally recorded 9 May 1970 at Morgan Studio 1, Willesden, UK for The Kinks classic ‘Lola Versus Powerman And The Moneygoround, Part One’ original album sessions. A concept album ahead of its time, it’s a satirical appraisal of the music industry, including song publishers, unions, the press, accountants, business managers, and life on the road.
Remastered by expert Kinks engineer Andrew Sandoval, overseen by Kinks frontman Ray Davies. ‘Lola’, which reached the #9 in the US, #2 in the UK and Germany, was the Kinks' biggest single success since ‘Sunny Afternoon’ in 1966 and marked the start of big comeback Stateside. The track, written by Ray Davies, allegedly details a romantic encounter between a young man and a possible trans-gender person whom he meets in a club in Soho, London.

"Reflections of My Life" was a 1969/1970 hit single for the Scottish band, Marmalade.  It was written by their lead guitarist Junior Campbell, and singer Dean Ford (born Thomas McAleese).  Released in late 1969, it was the band's first release on Decca following an earlier spell at CBS.
The song went on to chart worldwide, reaching number three in the UK in 1969, number 10 in the US in 1970 on the Billboard Hot 100, and number seven on the Cash Box Top 100.  Initial sales were significant in both countries, and the one million mark was reported in November 1971, when the group was presented with a gold disc for global sales.  The track featured a lead vocal by Ford backed by vocal harmonies, and included a reverse tape guitar solo (backmasking) by Campbell.
"Reflections of My Life" has produced sales of over two million units.  In 1998 the writers were awarded a Special Citation of Achievement by the BMI for attaining radio broadcast performances in excess of one million in the US alone.

When the project was turned over to Phil Spector he also chose the January 26 recordings. January. In the spring of 1970, John Lennon and Beatles manager Allen Klein gave the recordings to Spector in hopes of saving the album, which was retitled "Let It Be".

Phil Spector made many changes to the songs, but his most notable embellishment occurred on April 1, 1970, when he turned his attention to "The Long and Winding Road." At EMI Studios, he recorded the orchestra and choir that accompanies the song. The only member of The Beatles present was Starr. Already known for his eccentric behavior in the studio, Spector was in a peculiar mood that day, as balance engineer Pete Brown put it: "He wanted to echo everything, he had to take a different pill every half hour and he had his bodyguard with him. constantly.
