A Bird and a Tree

He is her anchor, her beacon of light. He guides her in the right direction when she is lost.

She is his hope, his greatest world. She brings him to travel by her wings and words.

They thought they could stick around, but soon both realized they have their own destiny.

He is born to be imprisoned here, witnessing and inscribing hundreds of years of history.

She is born to fulfill expectation of her species: find a partner, bear children, and continue the family tree.

She had to get married, so she did. She formed her new family by his side. As before, she shares beautiful travel stories with him, and he listens with smile. When she is away, he takes care of her children and home.

There is no commitment, but they have managed to support, cherish, and accompany each other throughout their life.

Until one day she couldn’t fly.

She stands along by his side, remembering their good old times. The gentle, husky voice of his and the wind keeps her company, on the last day of her life.
