Bush's visit

    Comment

ICRT also reported Bush’s visit will provoke Beijing . However, the White House said he is only a private citizen. The rolling news said there will be F-16s escorting his plane. Whose F-16s?

Invited by Jason Yuan? It look like Dalai Lama visited southern Taiwan after Typhoon Morakut to me. Guess there must be special tactical forces off the coast.

    George W. Bush visit unconfirmed ..... ●ICRT2010.04.01
The Minister of Foreign Affairs is playing down reports of a possible visit to Taiwan by former U-S President George W. Bush.

According to Timothy Yang ..... a possible visit next month by Bush is still in the initial stages of consideration.

The statement follows a report in the popular weekly gossip publication - Next Magazine - in which it said Bush has already accepted an invitation from Jason Yuan - Taiwan's to envoy to the U-S.

The article said the visit would be defined as an academic exchange in order to avoid any unnecessary misunderstanding by Chinese authorities.

However .. according to Yang no itinerary has been made and nothing regarding the matter had been settled.

Former U-S President Bill Clinton visited Taiwan in 2005 after leaving office in 2001.
