On November 12, 2025, Circularise announced its role as a key technical service provider in developing the Global Circularity Protocol for Business (GCP), which debuted at COP30 in Brazil. Working with WBCSD, the One Planet Network, Deloitte, KPMG, and Circle Economy, Circularise contributed expertise in digital infrastructure, supply-chain traceability, and data-exchange systems. Their work ensured that the GCP’s circularity metrics could be supported by real, operational data rather than remaining theoretical.
Circularise helped design the protocol’s core data architecture, refined Circular Transition Indicator (CTI) metrics, and shaped the multi-version roadmap for future updates. Their experience implementing traceability systems across industries such as automotive, aviation, electronics, plastics, and chemicals directly informed the protocol’s technical direction. This helped ensure that the framework reflects the complexity of real supply chains and the data requirements needed to track materials accurately.
Beyond development, Circularise continues to support the GCP as part of the Technical Working Group and the Front Runners Coalition, focusing on practical deployment and improving data-collection systems for businesses adopting the protocol. With global regulations—like the EU Battery Regulation and ESPR—requiring verifiable circularity data, Circularise’s traceability tools provide the operational foundation needed to make the GCP usable in real-world settings.
