〈你們究竟要我們怎樣生存?〉●新華網(2011.01.12)

    Comment

    Here is a hot poem “What Do You Really Want from Us?” came from nowhere on Xinhua net.  The so-called “author” has refused it and said he has never written it before yet the Washington Post printed it out on May 18 2008.  However, the poem showed itself in January 2011.  VOA has details.

    Chinese political struggle starts from an irrelevant tiny thing…  Is the poem a tiny thing as such?

    It is weird, very very weird…

    手法也好像在哪看過?是海瑞罷官嗎,是臭老九與孔家店嗎?又說不上來~

    你們究竟要我們怎樣生存?●新華網(2011.01.12

    美國紐約州立大學水牛城分校退休華裔物理學榮譽教授林良多(Duo-Liang Lin在美國《華盛頓郵報》上發表了一首英文詩《你們究竟要我們怎樣生存?》,隨後在互聯網上熱傳並引起中西方網友熱議。這首詩表達了許多美籍華人長期以來內心的壓抑和憤慨,因此被評論為是多年來受到雙重標準困擾的海外華人向西方偏見“射出的一記利箭”。該詩全文翻譯如下:

    你們究竟要我們怎樣生存?林良多

    當我們是東亞病夫時,我們被說成是黃禍;

    當我們被預言將成為超級大國時,又被稱為主要威脅。

    當我們閉關自守時,你們走私鴉片強開門戶;

    當我們擁抱自由貿易時,卻被責駡搶走了你們的飯碗。

    當我們風雨飄搖時,你們鐵蹄入侵要求機會均等;

    當我們整合破碎山河時,你們卻叫囂“給西藏自由”。

    當我們推行馬列救國時,你們痛恨我們信仰共產主義;

    當我們實行市場經濟時,你們又嫉妒我們有了資本。

    當我們的人口超過十億時,你們說我們摧毀地球;

    當我們限制人口增長時,你們又說我們踐踏人權。

    當我們一貧如洗時,你們視我們低賤如狗;

    當我們借錢給你們時,你們又埋怨使你們國債累累。

    當我們發展工業時,你們說我們是污染源;

    當我們把產品賣給你們時,你們又說造成地球變暖。

    當我們購買石油時,你們說我們掠奪資源、滅絕種族;

    當你們為石油開戰時,卻說自己解救生靈。

    當我們動亂無序時,你們說我們沒有法治;

    當我們依法平暴時,你們又說我們違反人權。

    當我們保持沉默時,你們說我們沒有言論自由;

    當我們敢於發聲時,又被說成是洗過腦的暴民。

    我們不禁要問:“為什麼你們這樣憎恨我們?”

    你們回答說:“不,我們不恨你們。”

    “我們也不恨你們,只是,你們瞭解我們嗎?”

    “當然瞭解,我們消息多的是,有法新社、美國有線新聞網、還有英國廣播公司……”

    你們究竟要我們怎樣生存?

    回答之前請仔細想一想,因為你們的機會是有限的。

    夠了,這個世界已經容不下太多的偽善。

    我們要的是同一個世界,同一個夢想,太平盛世。

    這個遼闊的藍色地球, 容得下你們,也容得下我們。

    附:英文原作如下:

    What Do You Really Want from Us?

    When we were the sick man of Asia, we were called the yellow peril.

    When we are billed to be the next superpower, we are called the threat.

    When we closed our doors, you smuggled drugs to open markets.

    When we embrace free trade, you blame us for taking away your jobs.

    When we were falling apart, you marched in your troops and wanted your fair share.

    When we tried to put the broken pieces back together again,

    free Tibet you screamed, It was an invasion!

    When tried communism, you hated us for being communist.

    When we embrace capitalism, you hate us for being capitalist.

    When we have a billion people, you said we were destroying the planet.

    When we tried limiting our numbers, you said we abused human rights.

    When we were poor, you thought we were dogs.

    When we loan you cash, you blame us for your national debts.

    When we build our industries, you call us polluters.

    When we sell you goods, you blame us for global warming.

    When we buy oil, you call it exploitation and genocide.

    When you go to war for oil, you call it liberation.

    When we were lost in chaos and rampage, you demanded rules of law.

    When we uphold law and order against violence, you call it violating human rights.

    When we were silent, you said you wanted us to have free speech.

    When we are silent no more, you say we are brainwashed-xenophobes.

    Why do you hate us so much﹖”we asked.

    No, you answered, we don't hate you.

    We don't hate you either, but, do you understand us?

    Of course we do, you said, We have AFP, CNN and BBC's ……”

    What do you really want from us?

    Think hard first, then answer, Because you only get so many chances.

    Enough is enough, enough hypocrisy for this one world.

    We want one world, one dream, and peace on earth.

    This big blue earth is big enough for all of us.
