例句來源:Advanced French Grammar (McGraw-Hill)

文法參考:Advanced French Grammar (Cambridge)

抽選練習:Give the French equivalent of the following short sentences. Remember that with singular indirect object pronouns, the gender becomes irrelevant. Note that all instances of 'you' are informal tu, unless otherwise noted.

  1. You give them to me.

正確答案:Tu me les donnes.

錯誤示範:Tu ^ leur donnes à moi.

分析要點:

  1. transitive verb versus intransitive verb
  2. direct object pronoun versus indirect object pronoun
  3. use of tonic pronoun

概念分析:

  1. identify if the verb is transitive or intransitive: transitive

Transitive verbs (vtr) ≠ Intransitive verbs (vi)

  • vtr: requires one or more objects
  • vi: no objects (direct and indirect) are allowed
  1. since 'donner' is a (vtr) and there is no preposition followed or preceding the noun, direct object pronouns are used.
me: me; les: them

= Tu me les donnes.
3. It is noteworthy that stressed pronouns are used to replace direct objects in certain circumstances:

  • when the sentence is in imperative construction
  • after a preposition

Since the sentence is neither in imperative, nor the verb is followed by a preposition, stressed pronouns should not be used in this case.

Tu me les donnes. (NOT: Tu les donnes à moi.)
