At Human Nature Projects (HNP) Canada, youth aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow — they’re the changemakers of today! Rooted in the belief that environmentalism must be intersectional, inclusive, and community-powered, HNP empowers young people to reimagine the future of sustainability through education, outreach, and direct action.
Whether it’s organizing clean-ups, removing invasive species, planting trees, hosting climate literacy workshops, or collaborating with non-profits and schools, HNP’s goal is simple: to equip youth with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to foster sustainability and drive positive change. What sets HNP apart, however, is its commitment to showing that environmental issues do not exist in isolation — they are deeply interconnected with various current issues such as race, health, food access, politics, and technology.
This vision came to life at “Seeds for Change: an intersectional sustainability summit” held in March. With over 85 attendees and 122 sign-ups, the summit explored how positionality, social location, and other identity factors shape and are shaped by environmental challenges. From keynote speakers to hands-on workshops and youth-led panels, the event brought HNP’s mission into action: sparking dialogue, building networks, and inspiring everyday activism.

The impact went far beyond a single day. Attendees shared how the summit deepened their understanding of climate justice, motivated them to reduce their digital footprints, and even inspired some to launch sustainability projects of their own. As one participant reflected, “I learned actionable ways I can make a difference in the fight for sustainability.” That’s exactly what HNP is all about: creating real, youth-led change that strengthens local communities and promotes fairness for everyone.

Backed by passionate volunteers, strategic partnerships, and a growing movement of young environmental advocates, HNP Canada continues to create spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and empowered to lead. Because when you nurture young minds, you grow powerful movements. 🌎🌼
