1966年初，一首瞞著原唱者把民謠編曲搭上搖滾伴奏的單曲The Sound of Silence意外衝上排行榜冠軍，連帶把原本已經解散的二重唱Simon & Grafunkel拉回錄音室重返樂壇。這一年他們先急就章地錄了Sounds of Silence，畢竟誰也不知道是不是三個月之後他們就過氣了，得趕搭那波「民謠搖滾」風潮。Simon & Garfunkel真正的潛力和野心，得等到這年十月發行的他們第三張專輯Parsley Sage Rosemary & Thyme，才真正展現。這是他們站穩經典位置、成為樂壇一流將才的證明。 除了Paul Simon傲視群倫的詞曲功力、兩人千金不換的和聲（得同時用同一支麥克風收音，效果才最好），製作人Bob Johnston和錄音師Roy Halee也功不可沒。六十年代中期跟著Bob Dylan颳起來的「民謠搖滾」風潮裡，這張專輯有極豐富的編曲想像、極細膩的錄音手法、極多元的樂風與主題取材，稱之為經典，是不過份的。 這期節目除了專輯正式發行版，也穿插了Paul Simon前一年在英國錄製的個人專輯裡更像是demo的版本，以及兩首赫赫有名的其他歌手翻唱版本，保證過癮。
