Taiwan was part of the history of Japan and the Netherlands.
Well, way back in 1624, to be exact.
Quite a number of foreign rulers took over this island.
That said, their dominance never made it to squash this place, at least not physically.
Taiwan fought back dictatorship that was forced upon,
but took in new cultures that blended into the Taiwanese identity as you'd know it today.
You'd see a bit of this and that which doesn't trace the origin back to Taiwan,
but coexists on this island nation.
