一直很喜歡聖誕節，雖然我不是基督教徒。但可能是這個節日的慶祝宗旨太溫馨，畢竟是紀念一個小嬰兒的誕生對吧！這種慶祝新生命的感覺讓人覺得溫暖。（雖然耶穌的真正生日可能不是這天）

但也可能是每年聖誕節必推出的聖誕歌曲太好聽，讓人更陶醉於過節氣氛中。

以下歌曲簡介及歌詞翻譯僅為練習，尚有許多不成熟之處，歌詞我採了比較意譯的方式。但願能傳達這首歌想要表達的，即使今年仍籠罩在疫情陰影下，還是要珍惜眼前人，帶著對逝者的愛，繼續走下去。

《聖誕快樂》(Merry Christmas)是紅髮艾德 (Ed Sheeran)的第一首聖誕歌曲，同時也是艾爾頓強 (Elton John)發行的第二首聖誕單曲，第一首歌是在1973年發行的《步入聖誕》 (Step into Christmas)。在2021年10月受NPO Radio訪問時，艾德提到，在《步入聖誕》大為成功後，艾爾頓在去年邀請他一起寫首聖誕曲，就在當天，他完成了這首曲子的旋律。

到了今年11月29日，艾爾頓及艾德正式宣布兩人合作的消息，並公布單曲發行日。該單曲於英國的全數收益將捐給紅髮艾德薩福克音樂基金會 (Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation)以及艾爾頓強抗愛滋基金會 (Elton John AIDS Foundation)。

在11月參加吉米‧法倫今夜秀時，艾德在受訪時提到，在寫完《聖誕快樂》後，他和艾爾頓又一起完成了另外兩首聖誕曲。

而其中第二首歌叫做《拉開聖誕拉炮吧!碰一聲之後還有別的…》（Pull My Christmas Cracker, You’ll Get More Than A Bang）

“Merry Christmas” serves as Ed Sheeran’s first Christmas song, and serves as Elton John’s second Christmas single, following the release of 1973’s “Step into Christmas”. In an interview with NPO Radio 2 in October 2021, Sheeran revealed that John asked him to do a song with him the previous year after the success of “Step into Christmas”. He also recalled writing the chorus of the song the same day he was asked by John.

On 29 November 2021, Sheeran and John both announced the collaboration and its release date. They also stated that all proceeds from the song in the United Kingdom will go towards donations for the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

In November 2021, on an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ed Sheeran revealed that he went to stay with John after writing the song’s chorus, in which they ended up making three Christmas songs together with “Merry Christmas” being one of them.

The second Christmas song they’ve written is called “Pull My Christmas Cracker, You’ll Get More Than A Bang”
