自私的基因不只在大自然

剛閱讀完「自私的基因」一書，裡面有點個人覺得十分有趣
生物界中常常會有一個生物寄生到另一個生物之上，但如果兩著達成目標(通常都是為了繁衍)的方向一致，那久了就會成了我們所謂的「共生」，就像是螞蟻與蚜蟲一般的關係，蚜蟲演化成能夠高效率的吸收並分泌蜜汁給螞蟻，而螞蟻則演化出高效率的武器以保護甚至是畜養蚜蟲。
但如果兩個不同，那較強勢的一方「寄生物」，就會強勢改變「宿主」以迎合自己的生存。舉書中的例子像是肝蛭與蝸牛，當肝蛭寄生在蝸牛身上時，他會迫使蝸牛生產出更厚的殼，聽起來似乎可以更加安全，但卻阻礙了蝸牛本身的繁衍，簡單理解就是只讓肝蛭可以安穩的生活更久。
讓我們想到職場環境
如果公司與你都有同樣的方向－－通常來說可能會是共同成長、共享成就，那我想兩邊雖然不能說一定會非常快樂，但起碼可以同甘共苦。
但如果任一方相對自私，比如只想著圖利自身，那可能就會導致剝削勞工或是薪水小偷的狀況了。
當然天擇並不會討厭這樣的行為，所以我們才可以看到現在有各種不同的職場環境。
幸運的是我們都有機會可以選擇自己要待在什麼樣的環境，祝大家起碼不會當被剝削的蝸牛。
I just finished reading"The Selfish Gene", and there’s a quite interesting point.
In nature, one creature often parasitizes another creature, however, if the two parties achieve their goals (usually for reproduction) in the same direction, it will become what we call "symbiosis", just like ants and aphids. Aphids have evolved to absorb and secrete honey juice to ants efficiently, while ants have evolved highly efficient weapons to protect and even raise aphids.
But if the two are different, the stronger "parasite" will change the "host" strongly to cater to its own survival. The examples in the book are liver leeches and snails. When the liver leeches are parasitic on the snail, it will force the snail to produce a thicker shell. It sounds safer, but it hinders the reproduction of the snail itself. Simple understanding just allows the liver leeches to live a stable and longer life.
Let us think of the workplace
If the company and you have the same direction, generally speaking, it may be to grow together and share achievements, I am not saying t will definitely become happily ever after, however, you can be through thick and thin at least.
But if either party is relatively selfish, such as only thinking about profiting itself, it may lead to labor exploitation or salary thieves.
Of course, Natural Selection does not hate such behavior, so we can see that there are different workplace environments now.
Fortunately, we all have the opportunity to choose what kind of environment we want to stay in. I wish everyone at least not the exploited snails.
