【辛普森家庭】turn on the juice不是打開果汁？juice到底是甚麼俚語？

第一季第一集，聖誕特輯，Homer用燈泡把房子裝飾成聖誕節主題，最後他叫Marge："turn on the juice. "究竟juice是什麼用法呢？juice不是果汁嗎？大家千萬要記得，此juice非彼juice！接下來我們來介紹juice的由來和幾個用法：

自17世紀起，juice就是slang了，一開始是指「性別流動」(指一個人不認為自己是固定一個性別)、「酒」的意思。在20世紀初期，juice有了「電力」的意思。

現在，juice用作口語除了是「果汁」、「汁液」、「精力」、「影響力」、「酒」等意思以外，用作slang則有「電」、「石油」等能量的意思，而辛普森家庭(The Simpsons)則有好幾集都用到了「電」這個意思。不管是開關的電、車子的汽油，皆能使用。來舉幾個juice的slang：

turn on the juice 打開電燈

Henry, turn on the juice, and don't use your phone in the dark. Henry，把燈打開，不要在黑暗裡用手機。

(run) out of juice 沒電了、電/汽油耗盡了(也可用在形容一個人上)

My PC is ran out of juice. 我的電腦沒電了。

I'm out of juice right now, so don't talk to me. 我現在(身體)沒電了，不要跟我說話。

juice up 使變得興奮、有趣

Let's juice up the party, it's getting boring and boring. 我們來炒熱氣氛吧，派對越來越無聊了。

get up the juice 打起精神

Hey, get up the juice, the situation is not that awful. 嘿，打起精神來，情況並沒有那麼糟糕。

(let sb) stew in one's own juice 某人自作自受，自食惡果

Last Sunday, Britney stepped on my toes on purpurse. The next second, she bumped on a door hardly. She's just stew in her own juice. 上週日，Britney故意踩我的腳趾，下一秒她就很用力地一頭撞在門上，她真的是自作自受。
