〈大不列顛與北愛爾蘭聯合王國與中國人民共和國就提昇外交關係之聯合公報〉(1972.3.13)

    The joint communiqué of the Governments of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of the People's Repubilc of China issued in March 1972 concerning the upgrading of their diplomatic relations

    Both confirming the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-interference in each other's internal affairs and equality and mutual benefit, the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the United Kingdom have decided to raise the level of their respective diplomatic representatives in each other's capitals from charges d'affaires to ambassadors as from March 13, 1972.

    The Government of the United Kingdom, acknowledging the position of the Chinese Government that Taiwan is a province of the People's Republic of China, have decided to remove their official representation in Taiwan on March 13, 1972.

    The Government of the United Kingdom recognize the Government of the People's Republic of China as the sole legal Government of China.

    The Government of the People's Republic of China appreciates the above stand of the Government of the United Kingdom.

    中華人民共和國和大不列顛及北愛爾蘭聯合王國關於互換大使的聯合公報

      中華人民共和國和聯合王國政府一致確認互相尊重主權和領土完整、互不干涉內政和平等互利的原則,決定自一九七二年三月十三日起將本國派駐對方首都的外交代表由代辦升格為大使。

      聯合王國政府承認中國政府關於臺灣是中華人民共和國的一個省的立場,決定於一九七二年三月十三日撤銷其在臺灣的官方代表機構。

      聯合王國政府承認中華人民共和國政府是中國的唯一合法政府。

      中華人民共和國政府對聯合王國政府的上述立場表示欣賞。
