Step into a fairytale at Crook Hall Gardens, a breathtaking historic estate dating back to the 13th century, located just a short walk from Durham’s new business school. This dreamy English garden feels like stepping into a mediaeval storybook — and the best part? Dogs are welcome! (Seriously, the British truly know how to enjoy life 🥹.)

Admission Fees:
Adult tickets are £9.50, or you can choose to pay £10.50 under the Gift Aid scheme to help support cultural preservation efforts.Inside the grounds, you’ll find a charming second-hand bookshop and a wonderfully relaxed picnic area. On a warm spring day, there's nothing better than lounging on the grass, in a gazebo, or under a shady tree with a favourite book, soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. Right next to the entrance, there's the Crook Hall Gardens Café, where you can grab a coffee and enjoy a freshly baked scone — both sweet and savoury options available! The garden entrance also features a large maze, which looks absolutely magical when the autumn leaves start to change colour.

My Favourite Photo Spot:
The view of Durham Cathedral from the gardens is simply unbeatable. The silhouette of the cathedral against the sky is truly picture-perfect.Walking along the garden paths, you’ll find colourful flowers and wild plants on both sides — it feels like stepping onto the set of a classic British film.Springtime in England is short but incredibly beautiful, and places like Crook Hall Gardens make you want to capture every blooming moment.
