初次聽到這首歌的時候，不仔細聽歌詞會以為是一首溫暖治癒的歌，上升的鋼琴旋律和不斷出現 let the light shine on you，還誤會了 Wolf Alice 是否在疫情之下成為了虔誠的基督徒？但是在搜尋了歌詞原文後，這個想法果然荒謬！在 up lifting 的變調中，隱藏的是 Wolf Alice 一如繼往的風格，大力檢討那些自以為是的（男）人！

最核心的一句挑出來閱讀差點讓人翻譯成「前無古人，後無來者」、「遺世而獨立」之類的。其實是玩了一個 first/last 的小雙關，用兩句話呈現出歌詞中這個對象是多麽旁若無人，自大的像是全世界只剩他一個人一樣。

歌詞中還有一個小故事，開頭的兩句歌詞，據說是引用了 Kurt Vonnegut 的後現代小說 “Cat's Cradle” 其中的句子。也是 Roswell 在寫下關於一個句子大概是「這個超特別的旅行建議，就像是上帝送給你的舞蹈課程」，Roswell 寫完這句就發笑，為什麼旅行建議不能只是單純的建議呢？非得扯到上帝和舞蹈課？於是順手就把這句話放進了歌詞裡。

這一段歌詞我個人相當喜歡，書架上一排又一排的書，放久了積了不少灰塵，當你把書拿下來的時候，書本身站立的地方並沒有被灰塵覆蓋，而書與書之間的縫隙形成了一條一條的灰塵線，這段歌詞提供了這首歌一個充滿敘事感的畫面，想像光線穿過飛舞的灰塵，空間中充滿了陳年書本味，時間不著痕跡地在書架上留下的記憶，後一句 “ that you read about yourself ” 讓人感受到歌詞中這位自我中心的主角，是不是在獨處的時候也不禁懷疑自己呢？“ lines between lines, between lines ” 這句不但洗腦，和後半段的 “ lies after lies ” 也做了一個很上口的對比。
