Gigi and the Cloud Painter
One night, Gigi fell asleep with a sketchbook in her arms and a pencil still in her hand.In her dream, she opened her eyes to a sky full of ladders.
“Where am I?” she whispered.
A soft voice answered, “Welcome to the Cloud Gallery.”
Standing beside her was a tall man with a paintbrush as big as a tree. He wore a blue hat and smiled kindly. “I’m the Cloud Painter,” he said. “Today, you’re my assistant.”
Gigi looked around. Huge white clouds floated like fluffy paper across the sky.
“You get to paint a cloud,” he said.
Gigi hesitated. “But I’m not a real artist.”
The Cloud Painter shook his head. “Everyone is an artist if they paint from their heart.”
She climbed the tallest ladder, held a glowing brush, and touched the cloud.
Suddenly, swirls of color danced across the sky—pink, orange, gold, and violet. Her painting became a dragon made of mist, then a castle, then a pair of wings.
Clouds gathered below to watch. They clapped with silent thunder.
When she finished, the sky shimmered with light. “You made the dream brighter,” the Cloud Painter said.
Then Gigi blinked—and woke up with the sunrise pouring through her window. She smiled, picked up her pencil, and drew a dragon in the sky.
