<p>雖然史考特《異形》的三個故事，表面上是在講述「異形」這種詭異生物的來由，但是背後的動機，則是解釋人類生命的起源與生命的意義。再者，由華格納的《萊茵的黃金》回頭看《異形》，就會發現《異形》故事不只複雜還有深度，因為光是一個「創造」的概念，史考特就運用三個神話，交錯埋底鋪陳：希臘羅馬神話的普羅米修斯、聖經裡的耶穌、和北歐神話裡的萊茵河的黃金。</p>
