錄完這期，看到消息：《胡椒軍曹》發行整整五十年後，再次登上全英專輯榜冠軍。賀！ 連續做了兩星期特別節目，我下足了工夫，把每首歌的演化過程、編曲版本一一拆解，一面也會奉上創作背景故事，以及錄音間裡的軼聞。即使如此，還有很多事情來不及講。 比方影響力並不下於音樂內容的這幀專輯封面，是四披頭各自以「寂寞芳心俱樂部樂隊」成員身分想像他們要邀請參與的成員，現在你可以在看到封面人頭對照表。 比方Sgt, Pepper是流行樂史第一張把全部歌詞印在封底的專輯（之前歌詞是另售的，等於唱片公司的外快收益）。他們不只要你聽音樂，也要好生讀讀他們要說的故事和道理。 比方Sgt. Pepper是流行樂史第一張曲目之間完全不留空隙、一首一首不間斷地播下來的專輯。而且沒有任何一首歌單獨發行單曲，這樣「以整張專輯作為創作母體」的手法，促成了所謂album rock的興起。 比方Paul在這張專輯的貝斯幾乎都是錄完基本聲軌之後，才又重新配錄的。他用這樣的方式彈出旋律極漂亮的、幾乎可以和主唱分庭抗禮的貝斯，大大提昇了這個樂器的地位。 比方Good Morning, Good Morning的歌名靈感來自家樂氏玉米片的電視廣告歌。 比方唱片最後A Day in the Life那個E和弦漸漸淡出之後，披頭調皮地放了一段人耳幾乎無法辨認的超高頻（據說狗耳會聽得很清楚，算是披頭要刺激眾多樂迷的狗狗的實驗），然後在唱片內圈循環放了一段亂七八糟的拼貼音效，眾多歌迷嘗試解碼，做出各種天外奇想的結論，包括披頭在這裡逆錄了一段髒話。 上面這些，這期節目都沒來得及說。但看看我放的歌目，相信也夠精采了。我想，這兩期廣播放到世界上和同行相比，也不至於漏氣吧。 胡椒軍曹五十大壽生日快樂！
