Some Taiwanese media reported that President Biden mentioned Taiwan as the first topic in the 2024 State of the Union, but this is not accurate.

The first topic Biden addressed was "freedom and democracy are under attack both at home and overseas at the very same time." After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the second topic, with the presence of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, was Sweden's potential membership in NATO, discussed on March 7, which makes NATO the strongest military alliance the world has ever seen. Biden addressed domestic risks by suggesting Trump’s behavior, "This is a moment to speak the truth and to bury the lies. Here's the simple truth: You can’t love your country only when you win."  So, “Respect free and fair elections. Restore trust in our institutions.”

By the way, the VIPs invited to attend the State of the Union span three branches, but the President is not above the three.  He is a guest of the Congress. 

一些台灣媒體報導指出，總統拜登在2024年的國情咨文中提及台灣作為首要話題，但這並不對：是第一次提到而不是擺在第一位。

拜登首先談及的話題是「自由與民主同時在國內外受到攻擊」。在俄羅斯入侵烏克蘭後，第二個話題是瑞典可能加入北約，在瑞典總理烏爾夫·克里斯特森的出席下於3月7日討論，這使得北約成為有史以來最強大的軍事聯盟。

拜登暗示「這是說真話並埋葬謊言的時刻。這裡有一個簡單的事實：你不能只在贏了時才愛國。」來應對國內民主風險。所以，「要尊重自由與公正的選舉，要重建對體制的信任。」

順便說一下，被邀請來參加國情咨文的來賓橫跨三權的部門，但總統只是國會的來賓，並非高於三權之上。

Frankly, for all his tough talk on China, it never occurred to my predecessor to do any of that.  坦白說，儘管我的前任對中國發表了所有強硬言論，但他從未想過要這樣做。

I want competition with China, not conflict. We’re in a stronger position to win the conflict of the 21st century against China than anyone else for that matter. Than any time as well.  我希望與中國競爭，而不是衝突。在這方面，我們比其他國家更有能力贏得 21 世紀針對中國的衝突。比任何時候都好。
