石頭存在, 但石頭不是有生命的, not alive; 動物是活著的 alive, 但是動物無法理解自己是活著的.
那麼這三者誰最高級呢?
當然是理解 understanding.
石頭存在, 只擁有以上三者的一項; 動物比石頭高級, 因為動物只缺乏一項; 人比動物更高級, 因為人三項都擁有.
死去的人, 只剩軀殼了, 缺少活著, 也缺少理解自己活著. 最有價值的是理解 understanding.
