小提琴家黃俊文與鋼琴家黃海倫是音樂路上的默契好夥伴，兩人合作十年，時時在音樂上有新的觸發。這次由法國 Naïve 唱片公司發行、兩人攜手合作的最新專輯《無垠之鏡》，規劃普朗克、佩爾特和普羅高菲夫等作曲家的經典作品，以鏡像為比喻，呈現音樂的多樣性與深度，也是兩人合作十年的最新成果。

黃俊文表示，專輯裡的作品大多創作於二戰期間，透過音樂，聽眾可以更深入地反思歷史，「這些作品創作於過去，但它們所表達的情感和主題，依然與我們當今所處的時代息息相關，在一個充滿變動的世界裡，音樂能夠提供一個寧靜的空間，讓聽眾得以沉澱心靈，進行自我反思。」

黃俊文指出，這些作品都可聽見作曲家試圖以音樂描繪他們當下時代環境的場景，以及他們內在的感受、受到文學作品的觸發等，普朗克和普羅高菲夫這兩首雖然沒有明確的標題，但是卻讓人能聽見其中蘊含著深刻的故事與意境。

戰爭的回聲與和平的渴望

Paul Huang and Helen Huang: A Decade of Musical Partnership and Their New Album "Mirror" Echoes Through Time

Paul Huang and Helen Huang, a renowned violin and piano duo, will release their latest album, "Mirrors," on the French label Naïve, which is scheduled for release in January 2025. This album "Mirrors" marks a significant milestone in the duo's decade-long collaboration. It features a collection of three works by composers such as Poulenc, Prokofiev and Pärt, showcasing their deep musical connection and their ability to interpret music with profound understanding.

Huang explained that most of the works on the album were composed during World War II. Through music, listeners can gain a deeper understanding of history. "Although these works were created in the past, the emotions and themes they express are still relevant to our current times. In a world full of change, music can provide a peaceful space for listeners to reflect and introspect."

Huang pointed out that these composers often sought to depict the scenes of their era and their inner feelings through music, sometimes inspired by literary works. While Poulenc's and Prokofiev's sonatas do not have explicit titles, they convey profound stories and meanings.

A Decade of Musical Partnership

The album's sequencing begins and ends with sonatas composed by Poulenc and Prokofiev during World War II, musically depicting the brutality of war and the longing for peace. Poulenc's sonata pays homage to the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, using irregular phrases and strong contrasts to convey the impact of war on emotions and society. Prokofiev's work cleverly blends the clamor of war, the dream of peace, and the joy and sorrow of folk dances.

The sequence of the pieces is also arranged according to tonal relationships, moving from d minor to its relative major, F major, and then to the parallel minor, f minor. This creates a complete and coherent narrative, allowing listeners to fully grasp the composer's intentions and underlying connections.

Between the two sonatas, Estonian composer Arvo Pärt's "Mirror in the Mirror" serves as a tranquil interlude, offering listeners a space for contemplation. With its ethereal lines and introspective atmosphere, this piece balances the album's tension.
