I took the binoculars from her, but I couldn't see the distant island she spoke of. Instead, what came into view was the silhouette of a woman from my past, her familiar figure slipping away. The flowing sleeves of her dress and her fading footsteps disappeared around the corner of the street.
"I didn't see the island you mentioned," I confessed as I handed the binoculars back.
"But you saw something," she replied.
"Yeah, though it was something else—something I thought I’d long forgotten."
"Hugin for thought, Munin for memory," she said.
接過她手中的雙筒望遠鏡,然而我卻沒能看到她說的遠方島嶼。映入眼簾的卻是過去擦肩的女子的背影,那曾經熟悉的背影,隨著飄散的衣袖和寥寥可數的最後腳步,就這樣消失在街頭的轉角。
「我沒看到妳說的島嶼。」我歸還的時候只好坦承地說。
「但你還是看到了。」
「嗯,不過卻是別的東西,原本以為都忘得一乾二淨。」
「思維Hugin和記憶Munin。」她說。
