「沒有走上的路途」- Robert Frost - (美到不能不去欣賞)


    第一次唸到這一首 “ The Road not Taken" ,就深深地愛上。一唸之下就被它 “分叉的兩條路” 的單純主題,以淺顯順暢的用語, 以及迷人的情景描繪所融化。


    雖然這生沒有真正走上詩人的路途,心中卻有一個心願,那一天能夠找到靈感把全文詩譯成具有貼近原作所經歷的 “意境與經驗” 的國文詩句。


    短短的四段,卻是等到去年初才算湊齊了完整的靈感,以自己覺得滿意的方式與搭配的字詞,譯成這首被公認為是十首最美英文詩中的一首 **。


    特別貼文於此, 與愛好詩文的朋友們分享。


    “The Road Not Taken" - 


    Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

    And sorry I could not travel both

    And be one traveler, long I stood

    And looked down one as far as I could

    To where it bent in the undergrowth;


    兩條路分叉在一個黃樹林之中,

    遺憾的是我無法同時走上兩條。

    既然獨自一人我只是久久佇立,

    往一條的前方遠望下去,

    直到它彎曲在樹底下的矮草叢.


    Then took the other, as just as fair,

    And having perhaps the better claim,

    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

    Though as for that the passing there

    Had worn them really about the same,


    接著我步上另外一條,看似一般美好.

    或許看上去略顯優雅,

    有著濃密耐踩的草,

    雖然過往的足跡,

    留下的踏痕並無明顯差異.


    And both that morning equally lay

    In leaves no step had trodden black.

    Oh, I kept the first for another day!

    Yet knowing how way leads on to way, 

    I doubted if I should ever come back.


    那天上午兩條路同樣平躺於

    未經踐踏出黑痕的落葉鋪陳裡。

    喔, 第一條我就留待來日!

    雖然心中有數,路是一條接續一條,

    我懷疑我會回頭再來過一次.


    I shall be telling this with a sigh

    Somewhere ages and ages hence:

    Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

    I took the one less traveled by,

    And that has made all the difference.


    我該帶一聲嘆息,提及這些,

    好久好久以來的某處,

    林中有著分叉的兩條路,而我,

    我選擇了較少人走過的那條。

    就這樣打造出來全面的一道殊途。
