<Holding Out For A Hero> 為80年代經典西洋搖滾歌曲，由英國當代知名歌手Bonnie Tyler所演唱。
除了Bonnie Tyler沙啞的嘶吼與強勁的唱腔，MV中誇張的肢體語言與舞台劇般的演繹方式，讓整首歌既狂野又充滿戲劇張力。

由於旋律與歌詞都十分熱血，因此受到許多翻唱及電影配樂的青睞，其中筆者最喜歡的則是英國樂團Frou Frou的改編版本。

Frou Frou (發音：夫嚕夫嚕，英文單字本身涵義為帶有華麗裝飾的裙子)，是由音樂家 Imogen Heap 與製作人兼詞曲創作者 Guy Sigsworth 組成的英國電子二重奏樂團，僅於2002年發行過一張專輯<Details>，2004年解散，2017年再度合體並於2022年推出EP。
筆者並非Frou Frou的粉絲，但Frou Frou改編翻唱的版本真的超戳我，迥異於原唱Bonnie Tyler誇張又奔放的搖滾風格，Frou Frou 詮釋得高傲冰冷，主唱Imogen Heap那帶著磁性又低沉的慵懶勁兒唱起來十分迷人。
若說Bonnie Tyler的版本是足以燒掉整個村莊的熊熊烈火，Frou Frou 的版本則是優雅舞動的藍色火焰，不華美但深植人心。
Frou Frou 改編的版本同時也是2004年動畫電影 《史瑞克2 Shrek 2》 電影系列第二集的閉幕曲。而既然提到史瑞克，就不得不提電影中由神仙教母這個腳色 (Jennifer Saunders 配音) 帶來的精彩演繹。

[註一] Hercules 音譯為海克力士，意譯為大力士，大力神，為羅馬神話中的人物之一，在希臘神話中被稱為Heracles，近代引用多指驍勇善戰，不畏冒險的大力士，英雄。
[註二] White knight upon a fiery steed (白色)駿馬上的(白)騎士，在童話故事中此形象常見為解救落難少女的英雄。
[註三] Larger than life 英文歌詞中常見的詞彙，不會直翻大於人生，而是指超凡入聖，不同凡響，登峰造極，遠在平凡之上的卓越。這句話比起言傳，更適合意會。
[註四] Sweep me off my feet 直譯是掃除我的腳，但sweep off someone's feet 這句片語指的是讓人一見鍾情，一見傾心的意思。因此這句歌詞為「讓我一見傾心」，「讓我神魂顛倒」的意思。
翻譯完歌詞後，有一個很有趣的點，就是歌詞看似表達渴求一位超凡入聖的神話英雄，然而卻被Shrek拿來做電影的Ending歌曲，這代表什麼呢?
Shrek絕對與傳統典型英雄相去甚遠，住在沼澤，長得醜，渾身是綠，又臭又不優雅，伴著驢子而非駿馬，但他卻是女主角Fiona的專屬英雄。
做為Shrek電影配樂，反而能幫助我們回頭理解原唱 Bonnie Tyler 帶來的<Holding Out For A Hero> 許我一個英雄，其歌詞的真正意涵，歌詞中字裡行間看似非神人不嫁，但她渴望的其實並不是超凡入聖的神人，
而是像Shrek一樣，能理解自己，在虛弱絕望的時候給予安慰，遭遇困境時給予陪伴，能與自己一同面對困難的對象罷了，歌詞看似真話，實則反話，留給大家細細品味。

除了作為2004年動畫電影《史瑞克2 Shrek 2》 片尾曲與劇情配樂，原版歌曲為1984年喜劇電影《Footloose 渾身是勁》的配樂。

值得一提的是，這首80年代的經典歌曲，跨越了40年，同樣作為電影配樂出現在2022年由知名男星Brad Pitt布萊德彼特主演的動作電影：《Bullet Train 子彈列車 》中。選用的版本為與原唱Bonnie Tyler同為80年代，當紅的一位日本歌手，麻倉未稀 (Asakura Miki) 所翻唱的<Holding Out For A Hero>。

配上 2022《Bullet Train 子彈列車 》電影片段，超燃，完全無違和。
不管是熱情奔放，高冷寡淡，萬念俱灰，同樣一首歌，可以改編或詮釋為與眾不同的風格。同樣的歌詞，也能演繹成截然不同的心境，並讓經典歌曲被炒熱傳唱，讓人找回最初的感動，串起這40年間的傳承，這是否就是Cover與改編歌曲的精隨所在?
筆者覺得這十分有趣，試著用你自己的風格說一句：「英雄都哪去了?」，會是，好奇，慌張，輕挑，絕望還是諷刺的語氣?
這邊會陸續翻譯黑鬱個人偏好的西洋歌曲，會包含各種風格與年代的音樂。
翻譯就像穿衣風格，語意上的解讀每個人不盡相同，我想盡量保留原本的詞意而不做太多的腦補解讀，因為文字的遐想空間不一，保留原詞語意可以展現出情感上的簡單暴力。
