Once upon a time in a small village veiled in the midst of an ancient forest, there lived a young woman named Jane. This forest, blanketed in perpetual mist, whispered of a secret magic known only to Jane. Every dawn, as the village slumbered, she ventured into the heart of the woods where the fog was thickest and the world beyond seemed like a distant memory.
The villagers often speculated about Jane's mysterious outings, but none had the courage to follow her into the fog. They didn't understand that Jane held a rare gift; she could see through the mist where others saw only a milky haze. Jane was the guardian of the forest's heart, a sacred glade where the oldest tree stood—a colossal, ancient oak, its branches sprawling like the arms of the world.
The tree, known as the Elder, was the source of the mist, the keeper of balance between the village and the wilds.
