Most days at the tea shop are quiet. Sometimes customers come in. They push open the door, smell the tea first, sit down for a cup, talk a little, and then buy some tea before leaving. It’s not always the same kind. A-Pin-Bo never pushes. He just brews the tea. If you like it, then you buy it. Most of the time, though, there’s no one. The shop door stays open. A breeze drifts in from outside. The teapot rests on the table, still warm. When it’s like that, A-Pin-Bo turns on the TV and switches to the sports channel. Even before the game starts, he’s already seated. Watching quietly, with a chessboard set nearby. He doesn’t say much when the score changes. Just a soft hum now and then, or he pours himself another cup of tea. For A-Pin-Bo, this is more than enough. When customers come, he brews tea. When no one does, he watches the game. The tea shop stays there, and the days pass by, one after another.
