How shall I tell
This thread where ‘motion feeling dwells
Of melancholy ‘ppearing calm
Serenity with violent storm.
O Eros, arrows of error stop
That intervention divine does me wrong
Time of times controll’ble not
As gallops stallion ‘way from held.
Could I from my own fantasia ‘scape
Myself pulled back my Reason by
As if those verses eventually end
From books to books I ‘s usual read.
But no! Unable my Reason find
Has He ever existed?
Cut it then, th’entangling thread
He shall control me not.
