這首傳統英文兒歌童謠，在英國的兒童遊樂場域經常可聽見，是孩童拍手遊戲的核心曲目。

這首兒歌童謠適合進行拍手遊戲（Clapping Game），也可進行跳唱歌謠（Skipping Rhyme）。

有位水手出海，想要看盡他所能看盡的一切東西，結果他所能看到的只有深深的藍色海底。其它版本的改寫，則可看到五花八門的海洋生物，聽唱這首兒歌童謠可同時學到常見海洋生物的英語說法。或者把「see」、「sea」另外改成合適的姿勢表演的字詞，例如 knee、chop 等。
