(Scroll down for English)
我決定嘗試一下 Rod Daeng(紅色汽車,基本上是改裝的皮卡)……

Week 2 in Chiangmai with a toddler & preschooler! Things to see & do
We went to an Orchid and butterfly farm for the 1st time, see our facebook for a video of the butterflies flying around…
We had drinks there.. have you ever seen one which hung half a mango from the glass like a sail boat?!
Next we went to nearby Wat Pa Daraphirom Temple & it started raining… Actually it was quite peaceful sheltering from the rain there! Check out our facebook account for videos
Another day, we went to Mae Sa waterfall, very nice to hear and feel the water rushing down.. I also like the bamboo groves there… Beware, quite a lot of mosquitoes though! There are 10 levels. I think we only went halfway because of the heat, hike & mosquitoes. The whole way is probably doable with older kids or adults only. See our facebook for videos!
Then we went to Maerim elephant home and fed elephants bananas. They only advertised a care program (like other sanctuaries or homes) but we felt it was a bit $$ and long, something we would save for when visitors come. We paid 500 baht to feed the elephants. See our facebook for videos!
Before we went to Chiangmai, our friends said “you will be so bored without shopping malls nearby!”… Well, we did go to a shopping mall in a hunt for a keyboard and goggles for R (there’s a department store there). Central festival mall has free cars for rent… The boys loved it (R in particular) & we’ve been back a few times (not specifically for the cars, but it’s pretty handy!) When we went to another shopping mall, R complained that the cars did not turn like they did in Central Festival. He was actually over the 4 year old age limit, but still managed to bag a car…
See our facebook for videos!
We tried to call taxis home, but got ripped off. I decided to take a chance on a rod daeng (red car, basically a converted pick-up truck)… R was over the moon!
