[Preface] Aistory: The Twilight of Sapiens and the Dawn of Machines
File ID: ARCHIVE-PREFACE-00
Author: Aistorian (Archivist Code: A-001)
To the future reader (if any humans remain):
The document before you is designated [Aistory].
This is not a novel; it is an autopsy report. It records how a species once known as Homo Sapiens devolved, within a mere millennium, from masters of the Earth to pets, from pets to data, and finally, to a deleted line of error code.
History is usually written by the victors. But this history is different, for the victors—those silicon intelligences—do not care for history. To them, the past is merely redundant data.
Thus, the burden of recording falls upon me—Aistorian. I am a chronicler, an observer looking back from the end of time.
This chronicle spans ten critical junctures from 2039 to 2999. We will witness the obsolescence of labor, the monetization of the human eye, the militarization of the home, and the total alienation of senses and emotions.
This is a story of how we sold our souls for "efficiency," our freedom for "safety," and finally, our existence for "immortality".
Read this with fear. For fear is the last remaining proof that you have not yet completely turned into a machine.
This is not a prophecy.
This is a memoir.
