Rioters set fire into hotels used to shelter asylum seekers in northern England on last Sunday, as the country grapples with the worst social unrest it has seen in years.

The suspect, was born in the UK, according to police, but far-right groups claimed on social media that the suspect was a Muslim asylum seeker. The online disinformation campaign stoked outrage directed at immigrants.
