Lessons Learned from a Psychic

Today, I want to share a story about fortune-telling. It all began with my friend, who encountered many troubles in her job and family. She wanted to know when her luck would turn around. So we decided to visit a psychic who was able to communicate with the god.

When we met the psychic, he turned to me directly and declared that I should get married immediately. It confused me because I didn't have a boyfriend and was not interested in getting one. The psychic's reason for me to get married was that he saw a big Chinese cake floating behind me when I entered his office.

During our conversation, he suggested that I should dress more attractive and try to seek help from men. He told me, "Don't do everything by yourself. You must let men do things for you." I found this idea unwelcome and offensive because I didn't want to discuss my relationships with a stranger.

And how about my friend? The psychic's words were even more disheartening. He compared her life to Sisyphus, a character from Greek mythology who was cursed to push a large rock up a hill every day, only to see it falling without success and repeat the process forever. The psychic told my friend, "No matter what you do, it will all be in vain." This made her very upset.

Through this experience, I learned some important lessons. Firstly, I realized the need to be careful with my words. Words have power and can significantly impact others. Secondly, I learned not to believe everything I hear. Independent thinking is crucial. Lastly, I recognized the importance of being alert during tough times and carefully considering others' advice, as it may not always be reliable.
