1.Heavy metal broke my (heart)重金屬狠狠地重創了我的心：這一句歌詞是在向已逝的Cliff Burton（Metallica的貝斯手）致敬。
2."Come on, come on, and let me in 快，來吧，讓我躋身入列 Bruises on your thighs like my fingerprints 你大腿上的瘀青像我的指印"：原句有很明顯的性意味，配合整首歌的意境，我猜是用"let me in"(讓我進去)還有大腿上的瘀青這些，隱喻在歷史上留下痕跡之類的……我猜啦
Pete Wentz在VH1的訪問中提到：他們想透過這首歌激勵人心（inspire）。他提到，孩子們會聽到有人說他們很怪、不夠好等等的，但其實那是因為他們早已超越、領先了大家。
他用Michael Jordan舉例，說他曾在北卡羅萊納被淘汰，但他沒有放棄，最後成了我們如今熟知的Michael Jordan。

「很多人就此停下，而我覺得這就是這首歌要表達的：每個人都可以成為傳奇。」Pete Wentz在訪談中說。
這首歌是2014發的，距離今天居然已經有十幾年之久，好可怕啊……我很喜歡American Beauty/American Psycho這張專輯，到現在還是幾乎每個禮拜都在聽，最近才想說可以翻譯看看。話說Fall Out Boy什麼時候會有新歌啊🥹
Centuries是我看完歷史紀錄片後聽了會很有共鳴的那種。副歌反覆唱著"Remember me for centuries"讓我想到莫斯科的亞歷山大公園內，有這麼一個「無名烈士墓」，上面寫著：「你的名字無人知曉，你的功績永世長存」：
當然Centuries這首歌傳達的不只是要被記住功績，而是作為一個人被記著。
