而在不同的嘗試中,Glasgow的調和商兼雪莉酒代理商William Phaup Lowrie(註:有一說表示Nikka裝瓶上很有記憶點的King of Blenders,就是以其形象為本。)所選擇的方式則非常簡單粗暴——購置新木桶並將已經裝瓶的雪莉酒開瓶後填充回木桶。可想而知,這個在操作型定義上近似於過去的雪莉桶的方式,雖然能得到相對好的成效,其成本之昂貴卻也絕對不在話下。但總歸正是這樣不顧成本效益的嘗試,開啟了「潤桶」產業的先河。
