• Do you have a favorite cafe?

千萬不要這樣回：Yes, I have some favorite cafes. // Yes, I have a favorite cafe.

隨時提醒自己要滿足雅思口說四大評分項目的要求，這麼回答失去一次在詞彙資源拿分的機會，因為考生的用字直接照抄考題。平日演練時需要考生處心積慮設計回答，然後才是把理想的回答練到自然流暢。

參考以下策略與範例之對應：

1. 使用更具描述性的詞彙：Absolutely! I have a go-to coffee shop that I'm particularly fond of.
2. 加入情感色彩：Indeed, I've grown quite attached to a charming little cafe in my neighborhood.
3. 使用比喻：Yes, there's a cafe that's become my second home, so to speak.
4. 引入對比：While I enjoy trying different coffee shops, there's one that consistently stands out as my favorite.

然而，我還是最推薦這樣回答：

Yes, a newly opened cafe within easy walking distance of my flat has just become a perfect place for me to unwind after work.

• 詞彙豐富、句子結構有變化(主詞cafe加入後位修飾語)
• 個人化(提及離自己的公寓走路可及的咖啡館)
• 時態運用(用has just become表明這是最近的變化，增加了時間維度)
• 功能描述(不只是說喜歡，還說明了喜歡的原因)

然而，我真正想要傳授給考生的武器並不是這些。成功的一席話以及成功的一篇文章，仰賴的是高品質內容。這個範例真正能讓考官驚豔之處在於【資訊蘊含量】：在一句話中包含了咖啡館的位置、開業時間、個人喜好等多方面資訊。

從【資訊蘊含量】觀點說出雅思口說第二部份考題的漂亮開場

我們先擱下雅思口說第一部份，改從第二部份的開場白告訴考生如何想出漂亮的開頭，而不是信"口"捻來把I'm going to talk about something.脫口而出。

Talk about a situation when you had to wait. You should say:

what you waited for
why you had to wait
what you did while waiting

and explain how you felt after waiting.

直接端出高分開場白的範例如下：

On my 25th birthday, standing in a long queue to collect a free birthday drink at a newly opened cafe turned into an unexpected test of patience.
