Disney has sent a cease-and-desist letter to ByteDance, saying the company used Disney characters without permission in its Seedance 2.0 AI video tool.
Disney claims ByteDance used copyrighted characters from Star Wars and Marvel as if they were public-domain images.
ByteDance said it will improve safeguards to stop unauthorized use of characters.
Paramount Skydance also sent a similar letter to ByteDance.
