This August, I will go to Aarhus University in Denmark to study for a master's degree. Introduction of the master's degree in agricultural biology
When I first applied, there was really very little information on the Internet, and some friends asked me how to apply, so I would like to introduce the application process, hoping to help people who are interested in studying animal husbandry in Northern Europe.
In fact, the application process is very simple, and there are very few documents to prepare. No letter of recommendation/resume/SOP, etc. is required. It is hard to imagine that you only need to prepare the following documents to apply to Aarhus University in Denmark:
The next step is to upload the application documents to the application system. You can even apply first. After receiving the admission notice, you can submit the language score before May 1.
Yes, it's that simple.
From November 1st to January 15th of the following year, Aarhus University will open the application system to non-EU international students.
The deadlines for each are as follows:
In fact, our non-EU international students only need to pay attention to a few key dates, such as:
The application system for fall classes is open from November 1st of each year to January 15th of the following year.
Notification of application results (admitted/not admitted/conditionally admitted) from early March to mid-March of the following year
Before May 1st of the following year, the language score must be paid back.
In late August of the following year, campus introduction week for freshmen
Then we get into the details. First, you need to know whether the master's program you want to study offers classes in English.
Unless your Danish is very good, of course there are more master's degrees that you can apply for. I asked the Danish Language Institute and they said that it takes at least 1.5-2 years to learn Danish from scratch and reach the level where you can study in university. above.
Applying for a master's degree in Danish courses also requires Danish language certification. Learning Danish is one of the most difficult in the world, so you can think about whether it is necessary. But if you know Danish, you will be more qualified to apply for a master's degree in veterinary medicine at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark!
You can find the languages in which each master's program is taught on the introduction page of each master's program.
Introduction of the master's degree in agricultural biology
This master's degree program is divided into four groups. I chose Animal health and welfare.
Click in to see various course content introductions, and the interfaces are all in English, which is much more friendly than the strange Danish characters (Æ/æ, Ø/ø, Å/å). You can browse by yourself.
Denmark is a country based on agriculture, and the animal husbandry of pigs and cattle is quite developed. A large amount of research on Danish economic animals is also concentrated at Aarhus University, which is a recommended animal husbandry university.
After reading the course introduction, it is recommended to first understand the total cost of studying for a two-year master's degree. Tuition fees
I just paid about NT$260,000 for the first semester, and I have to pay for three more semesters.
I’ve locked in a rent of NT$16,000 to NT$18,080 per month for a single suite (including kitchen equipment). The heating and water and electricity bills are about NT$2,000 to NT$3,000. Of course, if you want it even cheaper, you can also choose to share it with 3 to 4 people. Ya Room, two bathrooms and a kitchen.
If you cook by yourself in Denmark, the ingredients are quite cheap and you can spend NT$6-8,000 a month.
The visa fee is about NT$20,000, and the round-trip air ticket is about NT$50,000.
In two years, it will cost about NT$1.8 million. If you want to eat out or travel to Europe, of course you have to be more careful.
If you have studied the above information and are sure that you want to apply to study in Denmark, you can start preparing the application documents.
Since I am studying screen major, I will focus on the process of screen major. Please ask your school for details.
It is not difficult to get English transcripts and English diplomas. The most troublesome thing is the English course introduction. You can choose to go to the Academic Affairs Office or print it yourself. It is recommended to ask the counter first how to print the English version. They will teach you how to operate it.
But there are two points to pay special attention to:
Each class must have an introduction to the course content and scoring criteria
Each printed page must be stamped and certified by the Academic Affairs Office
Special thanks to the administrative ladies and work-study students at Pingke Academic Affairs Office for their friendly and patient help.
As for the language score, I originally chose to take the TOEFL test. Because I was preparing while working, I also signed up for a cram school. But the tragedy is that I was actually admitted last year, but because the TOEFL score was too late to make up for it before May 1st, it resulted in Conditional admission canceled (QWQ).
(I would like to complain about the TOEFL institution. I always took the TOEFL Home Test version. Just because I took the TOEFL test twice within two weeks and my scores improved greatly, they canceled my scores without authorization, implying that I cheated. Really? It’s super infuriating! Not only did it cause me to have no time to submit my test scores, but it also slandered my character without proof. The whole test process was clearly monitored, including the test room and computer screen. It’s really a very arbitrary testing agency... )
If you really don’t have time to pay your language scores before the application deadline, you can register for the TOEFL first and upload the payment receipt to the application system. But don’t push the bottom line like me and set aside an extra month or two. Get results to avoid tragedy.
Before entering the application system, first go to the bottom and click register to start using it. Aarhus University application system
After registering, select the self-registration user option to log in in the future.
After entering the application page, you can create an application application. You will need to fill in your personal information and select the university and study program you are applying for.
Many universities in Denmark use this application system. Just follow the instructions on the page to upload the application documents, and then wait for the application results.
I hope that more Taiwanese people will come to Denmark to study in the future. If you have anything you don’t understand, please feel free to leave a message for discussion.
