我和 Sabrina 群組的人聊到 Tate McRae，朋友唱著這首在90年代愛上妳，我們開始歌詞接龍。我想著來看看這首歌翻成中文會是什麼樣子，一查才發現還沒有文字版的中文歌詞翻譯。於是開始著手翻譯，清清淺淺地翻譯，有不足的地方還請見諒。
我覺得Tate McRae的歌詞比較好翻，不像Sabrina Carpenter的歌詞滿滿都是雙關和片語。不過，儘管不像Sabrina的歌詞那樣有很多雙關和寓意等著抽絲剝繭，Tate這首歌的歌詞也有拿捏不準的地方。有許多歌詞的主詞不見了，因為歌詞一句句拆得很開，不是很清楚斷句，也就難以準確地說缺漏的主詞究竟意指什麼。這樣的主詞的缺漏卻有了模糊和空白的詩意。像是重複兩次的副歌「should've been alive」，不知道主詞是誰，可以是「相愛著的我們應該還活著」、「那段感情應該還活著」、「那份愛應該還活著」等等。雖然只是細微差別，閱讀起來的感受卻差很多呢！
