I talked about how forgetful people could be in my last article
when I said that I was not just excluding myself
being forgetful could be rewarded with new experience
like reading a book or watching a film and then completely forget what it is about
so the joy will repeat next time when you read it or watch it
I started thinking when do we learn forgetting?
forgetting is an active decision
once one experiences pain or something dreadful
one gets shocked
and then an automatically generated safety mechanism
called forgetting is settled first
to gain time for recovery
completely forgetting as medical disease is another issue
normally we think we drop memories
but it is only dimmed
and waiting for a good time to show up again
there is a chosen time to be remembered forward
if we do not use the time as an unit
then forgetting and remembering will not exist
forgetting and letting go are two different things
I guess
due to my personal experience today
once you remember what is forgotten before
you can let go
and that moment is very wonderful
I was teaching on an online lesson this afternoon
meeting a pupil who had a longer interval in-between
(ok maybe just two weeks?!)
That I suddenly realized
I am or have been so narrow-minded
it was a short moment of realization
like glance of seeing myself in a mirror that was not there before
and it was strong so this realization hit me almost like a particular smell
then I continued the lesson with this incredible feeling of
seeing me caught in a frame I built
there was not forgetting, no remembering, no letting go
they were a whole thing
forgetting, remembering and the ultimate idea of letting go
are interpretations that just arrive the party late.
