若是直接將這兩個詞放到Google翻譯,都會直接翻成「暴力的人」,因為以英文文法來思考,這兩者意思其實是相似的。然而從後續的對話開展,可以看出兩者在劇中其實有細微的差異;所謂men of violence是指這一類的人認為以暴力解決問題是唯一辦法,因此會建議翻成「殘酷、殘暴之人」,但violent men則是指享受暴力,進而樂於犯罪施暴的人,所以選擇將其譯為「暴徒」作區隔。
