The wonderful gift —crayfish

After crossing the river and walked around 3 hours, we stayed at Kahurangi Hut for 2 nights. Then we saw three handsome and young men—Mike. Jack and Ish. It was Saturday.
Mary and I said Hello to Jack and asked him ’’Where are you from? What are you going to do here? Are you going tramping?’’Jack answered ’’We are going catching the crayfish and spearing fish.’’ Mary said’’ that‘s great. Could you please give us some crayfish head so we can make soup?’’ Mike said’’ No problem!’’ Mike is Jack’s elder brother.
In the afternoon, Mike, Jack and Ish caught four crayfish and put in front of the Hut. Most of our Club members ran to have a look and were very excited. Later, they boiled the crayfish and gave us the biggest one to let us share it. Mike told me’’ I will give you crayfish and fish, if I can catch some. And we are going to bring them to the place you parked, because it is not convenient for you to take them and walk a long way.’’ I gave them some money and some Taiwanese traditional desert which were very precious for me. They didn’t want to accept the money. I said’’ Just share petrol and gas.’’ Finally they accepted.
The next afternoon, they came back to the Hut but got nothing. They looked very upset so I comforted them. Some of my club friends got mussels and enjoyed it. I invited them to have with us.
We left the Hut and did the river crossing on Monday around 2 p.m. I wanted to say good bye but I did not see them. When we walked back, I never thought about the crayfish again. But when we arrived at the car park, we saw Mike, Jack and Ish driving their off-road car to us. They seemed tried their best to chase us in order to catch up with us .They gave us three crayfish and fish.
