6 月 27 日,多位知名文人連署的「兩千字宣言」(The Two Thousand Words; Dva tisíce slov)公布,內容包含對捷共執政二十年的看法,批評了共產黨的獨裁、施政表現不佳,對國內政治受到境外勢力(蘇聯)干預表示不滿,提及這對於人民的精神生活大受影響,失去對於公共事務的關懷,以及彼此的互信、快樂。連署人包含了導演Jiří Menzel、Jiří Trnk。(兩千字宣言全文連結)
