International high schools primarily offer two curriculum tracks: one is the AP (Advanced Placement) program, which lasts for one year, and the other is the IB (International Baccalaureate) program, which spans two years. IB is recognized by many foreign universities and can even be a bonus point for university applications. The coursework is quite challenging, more so than that of regular high school programs.
Opting for either AP or IB courses comes with the advantage of potentially earning transferable credits at foreign universities, akin to how some universities in Taiwan waive the first-year English requirement for students who achieve a certain score on the TOEIC exam.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) encompasses four major areas, primarily including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). The hierarchy of these programs can be roughly likened to a continuum of education spanning from kindergarten to primary school, middle school, and high school, although it's important to note that they are not entirely equivalent. Additionally, there is the Career-related Programme (CP), which can be roughly compared to vocational education, providing students with opportunities for career-oriented education.
