Today I went to a Korean Cultural Festival with my friend, and honestly, every single thing felt just right — it was such a perfect day. The weather has been getting hot lately, but surprisingly, it cooled down today. The sun was out but the breeze was cool, which was perfect for someone like me who sweats easily and hates feeling sticky.
The festival was held at a park near Patterson Station. What made it even more special was that I’d always wanted to visit this park but never had the chance or time. So it was nice to finally wander through it with my friend. We even saw some cute little squirrels along the way! The park is so big that it feels more like a forest. After walking through shady paths lined with trees, we found a huge sports field. We actually heard the lively music before we found the festival — it felt like discovering a secret place from a fairy tale.
There weren’t that many food stalls at the market, but we got some spicy tteokbokki and an iced Americano. We sat on the grass, enjoying the cool breeze and warm sunshine. I really love chatting freely with my friend — we talked about the past and our dreams for the future. I truly hope everything we wished for today will come true someday.
There were lots of fun little booths at the festival where you could spin a wheel to win prizes. We weren’t that lucky though — we didn’t win anything we wanted. I especially wanted a fan or a little Korean flag, but I couldn’t find any. Thinking about it now, I still feel a bit regretful.
But we did get to see an amazing dance performance and a unique hanbok fashion show. Watching the fashion show reminded me of my childhood dream of becoming a fashion designer — I was really such a cute kid back then.
All in all, it was a fulfilling day. Even though I had to rush home afterward to teach an online English class, I felt so content lying on the sofa afterward. I’m really glad I resisted my laziness and went out today — it was so worth it.
